I’m taking tango classes right now and a huge part of their focus is on how you carry yourself. The first exercise of the evening is always to clear the space. We end up walking around, focusing on breathing, letting go of the day and feeling alive.

At first, it is an odd exercise to think about how do I “clear the space” above, below, in front, around and behind me? What does it mean?

After spending an hour focusing on form and connecting with others, I realized I was in a much better mood. Sometimes, what do you focus on grows. Now, if I can just remember that this week. Tonight, acting assertive made me feel better about where I am in life.
