I have ADHD. I know what it feels like when your brain skips steps. I know the feeling of staring at a screen, trapped in what I call ‘thought-goo,’ struggling to translate complex, layered ideas into a file architecture that I will remember next time I go to use it. I know that sometimes, to get through a tedious admin block, I have to rely on body doubling with my VA to keep my momentum going.
This lived experience is the final, essential piece of the stack. It strips away the clinical sterility and replaces it with peer-to-peer pragmatism. It allows for a ‘both/and’ approach: we can hold the professional, evidence-based standards while simultaneously validating the messy, literal facts of how our brains work on a rainy Tuesday when the coffee hasn’t kicked in.
