So, another way of imposing structure on your life, especially with ADHD is to use structure established by others. While this seems counterintuitive to some of us, especially when you’re yearning for some freedom, what seems important is CHOOSING the structure. Right now, I just had an opportunity to join some friends at my corworking space in their “writing meet-up”. We’re writing for 30 minutes and then will take a break and see how things are going.

This is effective for me because there are others that have already determined much of the structure. They’re also acting as body doubles/mirors and I find it much easier to focus when there are others doing the same thing. Something about ADHD makes it very easy for me to mimic the energy and focus of those around me. So, here I am using it to my advantage.

No one is forcing me to sit here and write. But the focus and the short burst is good.
